Slow Travel Tour

Many travelers are looking for a more meaningful and in-depth travel experience and Yachana's Slow Travel Program can provide exactly that. Your guides will be the indigenous and mestizo students of Yachana Technical High School who will provide an insight into how people really live in the rainforest.

Activities will be tailored to your interests and include things like helping in our fabulous botanical gardens or in the Yachana Butterfly House. Spend time on hikes in the forest. Participate in farm activities with the students at the school - learn to plant and harvest rice and any number of fruits and vegetables we grow.  You can also help look after the animals that include pigs, chickens, African sheep, aquatic snails and tilapia. Accompany our students transplanting seedlings in our tree nursery. Many of the Yachana students speak reasonable English and would love the chance to practice with you.
