ITINERARY DAY BY DAY
01.- QUITO – AMAZONIA (D)
Surface transfer from Quito Airport to Yachana Lodge. 6 hours driving. (Flight must arrive at Quito Airport no later than 12h00). If we are lucky we will see the imponent Antisana volcano on the way, while ascending the Oriental Cordillera and then passing by the towns of Papallacta and Baeza. Continue to Yachana. Here you’ll receive a warm welcome from our native staff that will serve you a refreshing beverage and snack while you are introduced to the facilities. After you’ve had a chance to rest in your room and your time of arrival, your guide will take you on a short hike; this hike will take you into the jungle where you will see a giant and beautiful Kapok tree (Ceibo). Your guide will amaze you explaining a lot of things along the way. Dinner is served between 7:00 – 7:30 PM.
02.- AMAZONIA (B, L, D)
You have the option to start your day early by participating in a bird watching excursion or sleep little longer before enjoying a splendid breakfast, the first of the day’s Amazon culinary delights. After a traditional breakfast from the Amazon, you will board our ranchera (typical local bus) and accompany your guide as he leads you on a journey into the rainforest stopping to observe birds, and possibly monkeys, along the way. During your rainforest trek your guide will explain the uses of various medicinal plants and amaze you with his knowledge of the several species of birds and animals that inhabit the rainforest, which he calls home. Return to the Yachana for lunch and an opportunity to rest before the next activity. In the afternoon the administrative will give an explanation about how the Yachana Training Center works and the strong support of the Yachana Foundation with his educational program. After this you will take our ranchera to Agua Santa community in order to board a raft downriver to observe a local family doing panning for gold. From there, using either inner-tubes, a small rubber raft or just life jackets, you can float/swim as you continue down river enjoy the spectacular scenery that surrounds you. At some point you will get on board of a motorize canoe to head back to Yachana. After dinner in the evening your guide will offer to take you on a night walk to discover a totally different side of the forest that only comes alive after dark. On this walk, you have the chance to see many small insects, amphibians, reptiles and other animals.
03.- AMAZONIA (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will onboard on our ranchera to go to a farm where you can see and harvest some many products you have probably never seen or prepared before. You will be part of a culinary activity fixing your own typical lunch from the amazon under the supervision of our chef. In the afternoon after lunch, you will travel by canoe to the home of shaman and his family to learn about local Kichwa culture and traditions, and to participate in a cleansing ceremony. Afterwards, try your skills on the art of hunting using a typical blowgun and spear. This is a wonderful cultural activity to know a local family and learn more about the kichwa tradition and way of living. Return to Yachana for dinner at 7:00 – 7:30 PM. Rest before dinner and enjoy the sunset from our dining hall. After dinner you will learn how to make chocolate using organic cacao harvested from the local families. Turn the cacao beans into delicious jungle chocolate, one of the main ingredients for several of the delectable deserts served at Yachana. This is one of our highlight as you prepare chocolate in a traditional way.
04.- AMAZONIA – QUITO (B)
Breakfast. Private surface transfer to Coca Airport. Fly to Quito. Transfer from Quito Airport to Hotel (Airport area). Accommodation.
DAY 05.- QUITO – SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND: TRANSFER IN – LOBERIA (B, L)
After breakfast you will be transferred to Airport for flight to San Cristobal airport in Galapagos Islands, the guide will receive and take us to the town. In the afternoon our guide will meet us and go visit the Lobería. It is a coral sand beach; a piece of coast that has been named for the large number of sea lions resting on the rocks and sand. Arena Blanca Hotel.
DAY 06.- (AM) TRANSFER TO SANTA CRUZ ISLAND – (AM) HIGHLANDS (PM) TORTUGA BAY (B, L)
Early in the morning transfer to the pier to take the boat that will take us to Santa Cruz Island, on arrival our guide will take us to visit the high part of the island, here you can admire the giant tortoises in their natural state, see the lava tunnels. Time for lunch at one of its ranches. After this our guide will get to the beach in Tortuga Bay; It is one of the larges and beautiful white sand beaches that you can visit, here we can see iguanas and turtles, great place for swimming, kayaking or just walking and shooting. After this afternoon beach. Pelikan Bay Hotel.
DAY 07.- SANTA CRUZ ISLAND: BAY TOUR (B, L)
Pick up hotel. 0800. Navigation to different places such as: CHANNEL OF SHARKS, an arm of the crystal clear sea where sharks found in the surrounding area can see sea lions and frigates. IGUANA BEACH with a large concentration of marine iguanas, can observe blue-footed boobies; LOVE CANAL crystalline waters, is a very private and romantic place. GRIETAS in this unique place we will have the chance to snorkel into a canyon formed by the sea water into the land, in this area we will also have the chance to see blue footed boobies, red crabs, frigate birds, and other bird species. Finally enjoy the BEACH PUNTA ESTRADA.
DAY 08.- SANTA CRUZ ISLAND: DAILY TOUR (B, L)
Today you will have ONE of this visits with box lunch included, depending on availability:
Bartolomé – Daily Tour
Early in the morning we will be picked up by the transportation that will take us into the channel Itabaca, from where will board the yacht. Bartolome Island is famous for its Pinnacle Rock, a tower or lance-shaped obelisk that rises from the edge of the ocean and is one of the most famous images of the islands. A beach in perfect crescent shaped, with pink and white sands, east of the pinnacle. On this beach, where the crystal waters are waiting for us to do snorkelling. Under the surface, we find schools of tropical fish, sea urchins, starfish and sea anemones.
Plazas – Daily Tour
We will be picked up by the shuttle from our hotel to go to the channel Itabaca, from where we will board the yacht. Arriving to Plazas, where a very colorful landscape receives us: the turquoise waters of the channel contrast with the bright white sand and black lava of the shoreline. Green algae have covered rocks in some places, and close to it, deep orange color zayapas crabs roam the place. A little above a carpet of succulent scarlet sesuvium it extends at the base of green prickly-pear cactus under whose shade iguanas waiting patiently to feed on fallen fruit. The guide will take you to the best place to snorkel, whether on Plazas Island or Punta Carrion: we will appreciate sea lion colonies, variety of fish, rays and possibly reef sharks white tip fin.
Seymour – Daily Tour
Upon arrival, a small forest of silver-gray Rosewood rises near the landing site. The island is full of life! You may have to give way to a wolf or a marine iguana. The blue-footed boobies perform their mating dance right next to the trail. The trail turns towards the center of the island to reveal the largest nesting site of magnificent frigate birds.In the afternoon visit Las Bachas, coral white sand beach, it is one of the most important nesting sites for sea turtles. On the coast marine iguanas are seen in the lagoon we often see flamingos. Return.
DAY 09.- TRANSFER TO ISABELA ISLAND (B, L)
We take a boat that will take us to Isabela Island (The trip takes approx. 2 hours 30 minutes). Arrive to Isabela. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches of the Archipielago. Casa Marita Hotel.
DAY 10.- ISABELA ISLAND: VISIT LAVA TUNNELS (B, L)
In the mornining we transfer to the dock to take our tour of tunnels. On this tour of about 5-6 hours we will see a natural aquarium, we will find black lava arches shaped volcanic formations, place where you can access on fishing boats equipped for this tour. We can also snorkel and swim in clear waters with colorful fish of many sizes, sea lions, sea turtles, eagle rays, lobsters, Sea Snakes and other species. Enjoy a box lunch on board and return in the afternoon to the island. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our guide to be taken to the hotel.
DAY 11.- ISABELA ISLAND: SIERRA NEGRA & CHICO VOLCANO (B, L)
We will take our private transport to direct us to visit and get to know Sierra Negra Volcano (the second largest and most active volcano in the world) this tour is on foot and if weather conditions permit, we will also observe CHICO VOLCANO, get a box lunch. Afternoon return to the hotel.
DAY 12.- TRANSFER TO SANTA CRUZ ISLAND: TRANSFER OUT (B) – QUITO
Early in the morning, our guide will pick us up from the hotel to take a boat to go to Puerto Ayora (Aprox. two hours) to take a bus to the airport. Finally we will be assisted for our guide to take our flight back to Quito.

CANCELLATION POLICY (Per person):
- FOR CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 180+ DAYS IN ADVANCE: USD 750 will be charged.
- FOR CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 179 TO 150 DAYS IN ADVANCE: USD 2,016 will be charged
- FOR CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 149 TO 0 DAYS IN ADVANCE: No refund
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
WHEN PURCHASING THE TOUR, THE PASSENGER AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING:
A) If for any reason the agreed to number of days of the tour cannot be completed, the client will be entitled to a refund proportional to the number of days not completed, based on the amount paid to Tour Operator. There will not be a total refund unless the tour is completely cancelled.
B) If for any reason Tour Operator cancels the tour, the passenger will be fully refunded based on the amount paid to Tour Operator, without any further claim.
C) There will not refund for missed or unused services. If the client misses the flights for any reason, the passenger will be responsible for paying his own transportation and any other expenses incurred in reaching the destination.
Tour Operator is not responsible for changes in the flight schedule or flight’s cancellations of the national or international airlines. The airline is the unique responsible for any refund or complains.
D) Upon booking the tour, the client agrees that the operator is not responsible for any accident in wich the client is harmed.
E) Tour Operator is not responsible for any luggage lost on the way.
F) If for any reason the departure date is changed, the client will accept the changed date otherwise be entitled to a refund based on the amount paid to Tour Operator.
G) It is understood that the itinerary and type of embarkation may be subject to alteration without prior notice due to local circumstances or events which may include sickness or mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, strikes, climate and other unpredictable or unforeseeable circumstances.
H) Tour Operator will do its best to minimize the effects of matters outside its control but can not accept any liability for these matters which include strikes, delayed flights, climate, etc.
I) It is the client responsibility to obtain sufficient personal travel insurance. The purchase of the tour confirms that the client has his own travel insurance, though he does not explicitly declare this.
J) If a client has a complaint against the company, the client must first inform it to the administrator or company representative in order that the administrator / representative can attempt to rectify the matter. Any further complaint must be put in writing to the company whiting 15 days of the end of the tour.
K) This politics includes all the social, political, natural contingences that in the country Ecuador can happen.
THE BOOKING OF THIS TOUR IMPLIES AUTOMATIC ACCEPTANCE BY THE PASSENGER OF ALL THE AFOREMENTIENED CAUSES.
